About Larry Madow

How long have you lived in Connecticut?

I moved to CT from Massachusetts when I was a child, I have lived here since 1972.

What part of Connecticut do you live in, and why?

I live in Wallingford. The things I like most about Wallingford are, its central location. We are almost the same distance from Hartford or New Haven and have easy access to many of the state highways. I also like the lifestyle Wallingford offers, it has a small town feel yet it has all the amenities of a larger city, and it is close enough to the largest cities in CT if I really want the big city experience. There also is a great sense of community in Wallingford, everyone really seems to care about the town.

What is your favorite local spot?

I think the best spots in Wallingford are pub food style of restaurants….and Wallingford has a lot of them.

What is your favorite time of year in Connecticut?

I’m kind of torn; because I am a hockey dad I am partial to the winter, but as I get older I am liking warmer weather more and more. The one thing I like about this area is if you wait a minute, the weather will change.

What tip would you give someone moving to your hometown?

Because Wallingford is so diverse, there is everything from multi-families to small condos to big mansion style homes you should choose something that best represents the lifestyle you have or want to have.

What makes you happy?

There is nothing better than watching one of my kids score a goal, a basket or spike a winner, or being with my family cozied up by the fire watching a Bruin hockey game on tv.

What is your favorite childhood memory?

Some of my best childhood memories I have been able to relive with my children. I never had a better time then when I would go to Fenway park or Boston Garden as a kid and watch the Red Sox and Bruins, I am lucky that I have been able to continue to do that with my family and my kids love Boston sports as much as I do.

If you moved today and only had one box to take with you, what would you put in it?

Pictures, heirlooms or things that cant be replaced. Everything else is just stuff and you can by new stuff.

How long have you been part of the Calcagni team?

I have been with Calcagni for over 30 years, the same amount of time I have been in Real Estate. There has never been a question that I am in the right place.
