Personal Background:

I am very passionate about the state of Connecticut where my biggest concern is that people and companies seem to be fleeing. My goal, more so my mission, is building a community where people and businesses can grow and thrive throughout Connecticut so they don’t have to run away. I want to help build a better Connecticut, not just scale for the economy, but for employees, families, and our community.

My parents raised their five kids to be very community oriented and thus community building is critically important to me. My dad, who owned his own business for 35 years with his twin brother, ensured we helped others by shoveling sidewalks in the winter for other store owners and volunteering at church. That ultimately led me to a career in the nonprofit sector where I’m most proud of leading multiple teams that generated more than $1.5 billion in fundraising revenue for organizations such as St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and JDRF.

Currently, Ralph lives in Farmington with his wife, 3 step-kids and two dogs.

Random Fact:

One of my most favorite things to do is to travel with my wife and family. I have loved enjoying trips to Ireland with my mom in 2009 and again with my entire family (9 adults and 12 kids) in 2016 – a final gift from our mom before she passed away in 2015. Another favorite is Italy where my wife and I have visited twice – once in 2014 and again in 2017 for our honeymoon on the Amalfi Coast. The best is taking the kids to new and exciting places they’ve never seen and watching their faces in awe as they see new beauty throughout the country and beyond.

A random fact about me is that I grew up learning to play the piano but as a stubborn teenager, I decided to push back and did not continue to practice and have lost the skill. I would love to learn to play piano again and am now learning to play the guitar
