My husband and I have lived in Connecticut for 35 years. I can’t think of a better place to have raised my three children. Now a new generation of 5 grandchildren call Connecticut home.
I have lived in Burlington and Prospect Connecticut and plan on never moving from Wallingford, CT. Wallingford is a wonderful town – it has everything. Wallingford’s downtown is alive with shops, restaurants and services. People are always strolling the lovely tree lined streets all times of day and all year long. However, Wallingford also has beautiful farms, orchards and wineries. My children enjoyed the sports, geocaching, indoor rock climbing, an indoor raceway and more.
Practically speaking Wallingford has its own electric company offering fantastic rates, phenomenal highway access and a competitive tax rate. When we decided to move to Wallingford it was the practical things that sold us. But, after living here for a short time we fell in love with the people, the altruism, and the community atmosphere.
An example of the community spirit happened in 2009. On an early December night an unexpected snow storm fell cold and steady just as our youngest son arrived home from Iraq with a purple heart and bronze star. The community came out by the hundreds waving flags, lining the streets, embracing our son for his service and welcoming him into their warm arms. This is my community – the one my son was willing to die for – the one I call home.
Tata’s, Los Mariachis, Savores, Rick’s on 5, actually I love the diversity because there is something regardless of your mood!
Spring and Fall. I love the richness of the green in the spring and the vibrant colors of fall.
To experience the town by participating. Wallingford offers the best recreation department, classes and activities at the recreation area, library, and art centers. Go to New York on the train, visit the Paul Mellon Art Center, go to the Oakdale to see your favorite band and use the YMCA. The best advice I could give is experience it and you’ll love it.
Living the best I can without regret and doing the best I can for those who rely and put their trust in me.
My favorite childhood memory is playing jacks with my mother. She was so darn good. She made it fun and competitive – even though she always won.
My box would be full of memories that I could take out when I needed to feel warm, safe, and understood.
I have been part of the Calcagni team for 12 years. I have never regretted the choice. I feel the Calcagni vision is my vision. To fulfill the needs of my clients to the best of my ability, to be sure I remain educated, to listen to what the client is and is not saying, to provide a professional service in a professional manner that brings my clients to their goals- to find them a home, not just a house.
