I consider myself a life long Connecticut resident, having moved here at the age of 4. I grew up in North Haven, attended North Haven public schools, and the University of Connecticut undergraduate and graduate schools. Go Huskies!
I also lived in West Hartford and Portland, CT before residing for the past 16 years in Cheshire, CT with my husband and three children. My children have all been through Cheshire public schools (1 left!), and I feel lucky that I have been able to be involved in their schools through my involvement with the school PTA’s, school volunteer programs, and their sports teams. I have enjoyed making a difference in their lives as well as in other students’. I am going on 16+ years now as a volunteer in the Cheshire school system. My efforts were recognized with the Cheshire Public Schools’ awarding me the School Partnership Award in 2012. My community means everything to me. From school PTO’s, to Cheshire Relay for Life, Cheshire Lights of Hope, and more, I have made lifelong friends here for sure. As a Cheshire Junior Women’s volunteer, I have participated in, and led many fundraising efforts to help the Cheshire and surrounding communities, from providing scholarships to assisting the less advantaged residing in shelters. I am happy to have received the CJW member of the year award in 2016. As a member of Calcagni Real Estate Company, I am happy to have additional opportunities to participate in local community service efforts, such as our annual food drive. As my kids grow older, I look forward to continuing my community involvement in some new and different ways.
I have 15 years experience working in the human resources field prior to entering the real estate business. I worked for the Connecticut Department of Education, in Human Resources and Labor Relations for 13+ years. The negotiation and mediation skills that I developed during those years, along with my workshop training and facilitation experience, have helped me tremendously as a realtor. I consider my role as a realtor to not only serve as my client’s advocate, but also to educate my clients throughout the entire process of buying or selling- I am a firm believer that knowledge is power! My role is to also serve as a consultant and resource- a concierge if you will, in all things real estate; and, overall to help my clients save time and money and go through the process of buying or selling in a stress-free manner.
